“I lost some time once. It's always in the last place you look for it.” (Neil Gaiman)

Little Drummer Boy

Advent is one of my favourite seasons, and it's always a challenge to not get too distracted by all the "commercial"-ness and feasting, and to remember that it is because of Christ's arrival that we are even celebrating at all.

One way I remember is through the carols we sing, and one of my favourites is Little Drummer Boy, especially this version:

I know there's a Funny or Die homage by Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly (check it out here), but this version still does it for me.

Enjoy!

Vincent

"Hold my hand, Doctor. Try to see what I see. We're so lucky we're still alive to see this beautiful world. Look at the sky. It's not dark and black, without character. The black is in fact deep blue. And over there, lighter blue. And blue and through the blueness and the blackness, the wind swirling through the air. And then shining, burning, bursting through through the stars. And you see how they throw their light. Everywhere we look, complex magic of nature blazes before our eyes."

Emerging

...from hibernation, or more to the point, resuscitating this blog with new musings on various trifles that catch my fancy. Or perhaps a picture or two, like this:

At the Met (May 2009)

In the 2 years (!) since my last post, I've moved on to a new gig, travelled a little more, made a couple of new friends, found new interests (and blogs to read!), and hopefully have gotten wiser with time and default experience.

What hasn't changed is that I still doth procrastinate too much. I'm writing this to get into the habit of penning my thoughts somewhere at least once a day (even if it's only to insert a photo I fancy). Let's see if I'm able to sustain it this time :p
